What Is Tradion? AI Trade Analysis in Plain English

Not financial advice or a suggestion. For educational purposes only.

Tradion is an AI analyst that connects to your real brokerage account, studies your actual trade history, and finds the behavioral patterns costing you money, then lets you run quantitative research and backtests in plain English, no coding required. Every feature draws on the same continuously-updated profile of how you trade, so the analysis gets more specific to you the more you use it.

Tradion started as a research tool, not a product. The goal was simple: understand the patterns in a trading strategy that were costing real money. The first version was a script that audited trades systematically. It worked, and the patterns were obvious once the data was structured. After more than 9 years of trading, that is the part I keep coming back to: the patterns are already sitting in your trade history, and structuring the data is what makes them visible.

The layer that makes every feature personal: Tradion Memory

Most trading tools treat a journal, a chart tool, and a research tool as separate products that don’t talk to each other. Tradion doesn’t work that way.

Tradion Memory sits underneath every feature. It aggregates data from ten sources: terminal sessions, chart analyses, Lens analyses, trade autopsies, earnings reports, automations, chat sessions, trading patterns, portfolio positions, and playbook rules. That aggregate becomes one trader profile, and Tradion injects it into every AI prompt: your trading style, your recurring mistakes, your psychology patterns, your current portfolio.

The practical effect: ask the AI Portfolio Analyst a question and it already knows your positions. Run a Lens analysis on a chart and the feedback references your own past mistakes, not generic technical analysis. Tradion Memory runs passively in the background with no toggle to turn on.

Trade Autopsy: what actually happened to your trade

Trade Autopsy is where the behavioral data starts. You can log a trade three ways: describe it in plain English, fill out a form, or upload a broker statement or PDF for Tradion to parse.

From there, Tradion produces a root-cause report with severity scoring and a scorecard across three dimensions: entry quality, exit discipline, and risk management, each graded 0 to 100. It also runs deterministic pattern detection across your trade history, grouping recurring mistakes like FOMO entries, missing stop-losses, or position oversizing, ranked by how often they happen and what they cost you in dollars. A playbook manager lets you save trading rules as checklists you can hold yourself to on the next trade.

The psychological profile behind the patterns

After two or more autopsies, Tradion unlocks a psychological profile: a trader archetype, an emotional intelligence score, documented cognitive biases with evidence from your own trades, and a stress-response pattern.

This isn’t a generic personality quiz. It’s grounded in established behavioral finance and psychology research: Kahneman and Tversky’s prospect theory (Econometrica, 1979), the Goleman emotional intelligence model, and Van Tharp’s trader archetypes. A related, well-known finding in the same field: Barber and Odean’s study of individual investor trading found that the most active traders in their sample earned meaningfully lower net returns than the market, largely from trading costs and behavioral patterns rather than bad stock-picking. The goal of the psychological profile is a clinical read on your own decision-making against that research, not a label.

Quant research and earnings analysis without writing code

AI Quant Research is a natural-language workspace for quantitative analysis. Describe what you want to test, and each analysis cell fetches real market data and produces interactive charts, tables, and narrative, no Python required on your end. See the docs for the full list of what a research session can do.

AI Earnings Research answers questions about a company’s earnings in plain language, built from real data: financials from SEC EDGAR’s CompanyFacts API and actual call transcripts, not summaries the model invented. If a transcript isn’t available, Tradion says so rather than filling the gap. Charts are drawn only from the data that was actually retrieved.

Reading a chart, and reading your portfolio

Chart Analyzer and Lens read a chart the way a trader would: upload a screenshot, or capture your current chart in one click, and get a verdict, a confidence score, and entry, stop-loss, and target levels. When Tradion Memory is on, Lens adds behavioral feedback based on your own track record, not just the ticker on screen.

AI Portfolio Analyst is a conversational workspace for your actual holdings. Ask about your positions, your exposure, or run a “what if” scenario, and the answers are grounded in your real, live brokerage data rather than a hypothetical.

Staying on top of the market without watching it

Automations is a node-based workflow builder: combine price levels, volume, technical indicators, news, earnings timing, options flow, insider transactions, or an AI agent’s judgment into a single alert, then get notified by Discord, email, Telegram, webhook, or in-app. Automations run around the clock, not just during market hours.

What Tradion is not

Tradion doesn’t place trades or manage your money. Your brokerage connection through SnapTrade is read-only, and Tradion never has trading permissions on your account.

Tradion also isn’t the right fit for everyone. If you’re looking for a promise of profits, a bot that trades for you, or personalized investment advice, this isn’t it, and no legitimate tool should claim to be one. It’s built for people who already place their own trades and want a clearer, data-backed view of their own patterns, not a replacement for making your own decisions. See the risk disclosure for the full picture on what that means before you connect an account.

It also isn’t a generic AI chat wrapper. The difference between asking a general-purpose AI assistant about your trading and asking Tradion is that Tradion actually has your trade history, your portfolio, and your documented mistakes to work from. A general assistant is guessing; Tradion is reading your own data.

And it isn’t a replacement for a manually kept spreadsheet journal that just happens to have AI attached. The trade data comes from your real brokerage account and your logged trades, and the behavioral analysis is a byproduct of that, not a bolt-on feature.

Common questions

Does Tradion guarantee profits?

No. Tradion is a research and analysis tool, not a trading bot. It helps you make better-informed decisions, but all trading carries risk of loss.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You describe what you want to research in plain English, and Tradion writes and runs the underlying analysis in a secure sandbox.

Which brokerages can I connect?

30+ brokerages through SnapTrade, including Interactive Brokers, Webull, Robinhood, and Alpaca. The connection is read-only.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There are no contracts. Cancel from your account settings and your access continues until the end of your current billing period.

Pricing in plain terms

Tradion has three paid tiers: Starter, Trader, and Quant. Starter and Trader come with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers; Quant does not have a trial. There’s no free tier.

Pricing and the exact feature breakdown by tier are covered in a dedicated post; the short version is that each tier unlocks more monthly usage of the research and automation features above, not different core capabilities.

More on why Tradion was built this way is on the About page.
